DELIGHTED eco-friendly kids at a Rugby nursery have earned another environmental accolade.
Nature Trails Day Nursery in Cawston has scooped the prestigious Green Flag with Distinction award for a third year running.
It follows a a sustained environmental project and curriculum of green topics involving children of all ages.
The accolade recognises sustainable initiatives in nursery, such as growing herbs and vegetables, crafting with natural and recycled materials, nature hunts and litter picking sessions.
Most recently, Nature Trails children have enjoyed special gardening masterclasses courtesy of their grandparents, including sowing seeds and learning how to care for plants.
The nursery also has its own Eco-Committee made up of a number of pre-school children and staff, who ensure resources like paper aren’t wasted, taps are not left running, lights are switched off, and that knowledge is shared.
Nature Trails Business Administrator Georgina Ross-Barnard said: “Our little ones have demonstrated a deep understanding and passion for protecting our planet. From recycling and reducing waste to learning about sustainable practices, these children have truly become environmental stewards at a young age.
“We are so proud of our pre-schoolers for their dedication and hard work in making our world a better place.”
